THINGS TO DO
Cannop cycle centre
Within a 15 minute bike ride there is a cycle hub. The hub offers trails for beginners/family trails up to advanced downhill riders.
Puzzle Wood
A unique site with spectacular mossy boulders making it ideal for photographers and adventurous families. Part of the Star Wars Film 'The Force Awakens' was filmed in this woodland.
Symonds Yat Rock

With a stunning view and a lovely cafe the viewing point overlooks the River Wye and surrounding valleys.
Clearwell Caves
​
With nice walks over the surrounding common land and a natural cave system mined for ochre pigments and iron ore for over 4,500 years.
Beechenhurst
​
Beechenhurst is the starting point for the famous Sculpture Trail, there are additional waymarked walks of varying lengths beginning from the site, and for visitors bringing their own bikes to the forest, Beechenhurst is an ideal start point for the Family Cycle Trail. There is a good cafe and large play area with direct access to the cycle centre you can't go wrong.
Perrygrove Railway and treetop adventure
A steam railway, with treasure trail, adventure playground, woodland walks, den building, miniature village and café
Forest of Dean Sculpture trail
The Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail is a unique outdoor collection of 17 sculptures. Open all year round, dawn til dusk, and entry is free of charge.
Mallards Pike Lake

Tintern Abbey




A magnificent ruined gothic abbey in a beautiful setting on the banks of the River Wye. Several good cafés nearby.
